Dual cameras, whimsical pixel-cover and a price tag that surpasses iPhone. HTC mobile call for the ultimate “selfie” camera.

HTC One was our most successful phones, says European marketing manager Graham Wheeler in HTC.

And now the company is ready with its sequel: HTC One (M8).

Why (M8)? Because they continue to sell the old HTC One, under the name HTC One (M7).

We’ll be back with more, so we try to keep short. Below are the main differences between the M8 and M7.

# 1: New body

HTC One (M8) is not exactly like its predecessor, but they are not very different either. It is myself clear a metal body with as few joints as possible, with dual internal speakers upstairs and downstairs. The new one is more round and has headphone jack on the bottom, next to the charger input.

Images in this article is the somewhat dark Gun Metal Grape issue, but it will also come Glacier Silver (like its predecessor) and Amber Gold Editions.

# 2: Dual cameras

HTC will still talk about megapixels , but ” ultrapixels .” Briefly, it involves having a large piece that captures the light , combining more data into smaller images.

That way you will get better pictures that are not as large as that of competitors. HTC One ( M8 ) provides images of around four megapixels, just like its predecessor.

But now you also have another camera. In this way , the camera can see in three dimensions , and know what the image is in front and behind . This is used , as far as we understand , first and foremost, to add effects to your photos . For example, to do anything but foreground (preferably one person) blurred or put snow down in front of and behind the object .

So it’s more about making things blurry , let sharp. For misses the focus when you take the photo, ie not repair it as much afterwards.

The front camera is five megapixels, or pure size wise more than bakkameraet . It will be the ultimate ” selfie ” camera , according to HTC, with lots of effects to make imperfect faces “perfect” .

# 3: Pixel cover

One of the wackiest with HTC One (M8) is a new cover, called DotCase. This can show you pixelated information without opening the cover, and it looks at first glance like this comes from the cover itself. It does not. The screen behind the cover draws angular graphics that glow through the holes in the cover, but the result is nevertheless fun.

# 4: New Sense

HTC’s Android-shell should have been updated in all angles and sides. Among other things, greater freedom for customization.

– First Android traded on customization. But then people stopped talking about it. So we would take this back to the operating system, says Wheeler.

# 5: Improved Battery

We liked the HTC One (ie M7) very well, but we complained about the battery. The new battery is only 300 mAh larger than the old one, but, according to HTC giving you 40 percent more battery life.

They also provide new battery saving features to keep you alive on such a camping trip.

# 6: Specifications, price, availability

HTC One (M8) is at first only as a 16GB model. It has a Snapdragon 801 processor at four times the 2.3 GHz and 2 GB RAM. HTC has also been appointed to the memory card input, unlike its predecessor.

The award is stiff: Suggested retail price is £550.00 ; expensive than the iPhone 5S with equal memory.
