Now comes the Android 7.1 beta

App shortcuts serves as the right mouse click or 3D Touch known from iPhone

Google has finally announced the Android 7.1.

Some smart features
Beta version comes first Pixel C, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P later this month.

7.1 adds support for Daydream VR, and:

  • App Shortcut API that allows developers to build features into hjermskjermen which allows the user to go deep into the app right away. Five shortcuts can be created statically or dynamically
  • Support for circular app icons that match the appearance of Pixel home screen and other home screens
  • Expanded background image metadata
  • Support for image keyboards that allows users to share stickers, animated gif’s and more
  • Storeage manager Intentallows an application to send the user directly to the options menu to remove unused files and thus provide more disp lass

7.1 coming later to 5X, 6, 6P, 9, Player, Pixel C and supported Android One devices.

Pixel and Pixel XL comes with 7.1, and promised at least 2 years of updates. Mobile launches on October 20 and we are waiting for our test unit. VR headset comes in December test.
